You may have noticed that Circle K’s newest construction at Tanque Verde/Houghton Roads reflects a shift from its typical “scrape-it-clean” development approach. At the request of the TVVA, native desert vegetation has been preserved; an important step toward maintaining the rural character that defines our community.
However, this highlights a broader issue. Other key suggestions from TVVA, particularly those supporting a functional wildlife corridor and protecting dark skies, were not fully adopted. These are not minor details, but are essential to preserving the ecological balance and quality of life in Tanque Verde.
TVVA will continue to share our collective concerns with developers and decision-makers, noting that while preserving vegetation is a positive step, long-term stewardship remains important to maintaining Tanque Verde’s character as growth continues.
