| We Did It! Thank You, Tanque Verde Valley! Today, the Tanque Verde Valley came together in a powerful way, and our voices were heard. At the Pima County Planning Commission meeting, the recommendation was approved unanimously to keep the ENTIRE Tanque Verde Valley within the proposed Special Area Policy boundary, just as shown on TVVA’s map. TVVA SAP Area Map More than 70 people filled the audience, over 20 joined online, and 15 people spoke in support of preserving the full Valley. That kind of turnout sends a message that cannot be ignored: this community cares deeply about its future. This victory did not happen because of any one person or organization. It happened because neighbors talked to neighbors. Volunteers stepped forward. People signed petitions, attended meetings, made phone calls, wrote letters and emails, shared information, and encouraged one another to get involved. The Tanque Verde Valley is known for its strong sense of community, and today that spirit was on full display. And while we celebrate this important victory, our work is not quite finished. The proposed SAP will next go before the Pima County Board of Supervisors, where we hope to receive final approval this autumn. We will once again need your voices, energy, and commitment as we take this next important step together.
