Help Shape the Future – On Your Terms

The TVVA is launching an initiative to guide thoughtful growth, protect resources, and build a strong, sustainable future while also advancing our networking capabilities across a diverse range of professional disciplines. We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Board of Advisors, a flexible, on-call group that provides insight and expertise as needed. If you don’t have time for a traditional volunteer role, this is a meaningful way to contribute without a major time commitment.

What Advisors Do

As an advisor, you provide guidance and insight to the TVVA Executive Committee and Project Leaders on an as-needed basis, offering thoughtful feedback on plans, studies, and key decisions as they arise. By sharing your professional expertise, you help strengthen outcomes and ensure the incorporation process remains balanced, well-informed, and aligned with best practices. And if you don’t have the time or resources to participate when called upon, we welcome and appreciate your referrals to others who may be a great fit for this effort.

You will collaborate with a diverse network of professionals and play a key role in shaping a thoughtful, long-term vision for responsible growth.

BoA Membership Recommendations

  • Member in good standing of TVVA
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Degreed and/or significant experience in the field identified by the BoA
    •  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred (Doctoral optional)
    •  10+ years of activities directly associated with identified area of expertise
  • Professional organization membership highly beneficial
  • Willing to provide and keep current:
    • Means of contact (e.g. email, text, etc.)
    • Generally able and willing to respond to requests for help within 48hrs with “first response”

NOTE: The BoA list will NOT be generally distributed, but will be for use by the Executive Committee and Project Team leaders, as requested by Project Team leaders.

 Typical BoA Member Engagement

  • When the Executive Committee identifies a question or issue, it will be documented and a project lead assigned; staff will then contact the appropriate Board of Advisors (BoA) member(s).
  • The selected BoA member(s) will be briefed and asked to provide input.
  •  If appropriate, a BoA member may suggest direct coordination with the project team at their discretion.
  • If more extensive involvement is needed, the BoA member and/or Executive Committee will determine next steps, including continued advisory input or engaging professional services.

How to Become a BoA Member

  • Complete the online BoA application form and submit for review by the TVVA Executive Committee.
  • The Executive Committee, and other TVVA members upon the request of the Executive Committee, will evaluate submissions; possibly wish to interview candidates before adding the requestor to the BoA list.
