We had a great turnout for our Fall General Meeting on November 13, 2019. The agenda started with a welcome and introductions by our TVVA Board President Peter Reinthal. Next, Deputy County Administrator Carmine DeBonis, Jr., told us about the Pay-As-You-Go road repairs plan (PAYGO) and the Citizens Advisory Committee to help the County prioritize roads needing repair. See our Resources page for more information, including a link to the County's Road Repair Map.
Pima County District 4 Supervisor Steve Christy spoke next on the County's road repair plans, and the Houghton Road Master Plan which includes widening Houghton Road from Tanque Verde to I-10. Supervisor Christy noted that the rezoning proposal for Tanque Verd and Houghton Road was a City of Tucson issue and he had no role in this decision; however, because his constituents will be affected, he will draft a letter to the City conveying our concerns.
Two homeowners who would be directly impacted by the Tanque Verde - Houghton Road rezoning spoke next. Allison Sprinkle urged us all to stay involved, keep up the momentum, and attend all meetings downtown. Margo Susko urged us to work together so we are all on the same page and have the same information. She has met with various City officials and Planning and Zoning members. We must follow the process!
